Uneri
2026
Uneri is a furniture collection made from branches pruned from Tokyo's street trees and fallen wood gathered from local parks.
In Tokyo, tree growth is often suppressed to prevent interference with urban infrastructure. Though removed branches carry inherent potential as a material resource, they are rarely repurposed as anything beyond wood chips.
This collection turns our attention to these fragments, elements of the city that have been overlooked. The structures assemble varied branches, capturing the energy of a tree's search for light and the subtle pull of gravity. These forces reveal themselves differently in every piece, as organic undulations tracing poetic lines through the air.
Cooperation: Machida City Road Division
